Please remove passwords, tokens, private chat history and personal health information from screenshots or examples before sending them.

The free, read-only MCP API lets compatible clients search wearables, read generation histories and compare cataloged specifications. No Wearable Index account or API key is needed.

In ChatGPT, open Plugins, choose Add custom MCP server, enter this URL and select No authentication. Install the personal plugin, then select it in a new supported chat. Availability depends on your ChatGPT account or workspace. A personal connection is separate from a public directory listing.

Other MCP clients can use the same endpoint with Streamable HTTP. To download the catalog directly, use the public JSON dataset.

Results include Wearable Index links so you can inspect the source and continue exploring.

The URL shows a method error in a browser: that is expected. MCP clients send protocol requests; opening the API URL as a normal page does not run a search.

The client cannot connect: check the exact HTTPS URL and the No authentication setting. An HTML login page usually means you used a protected preview URL. Use the wearableindex.com endpoint above.

A search is empty: try fewer keywords or a broader budget. Search defaults to shipping generations; ask explicitly for announced, rumored, preorder or discontinued devices when appropriate.

The catalog is temporarily unavailable: retry later. We do not silently replace unavailable live data with an offline catalog. If the problem continues, send the error text, approximate time and client name to support.

Wearable Index is an editorial reference, not a retailer or medical service. Prices may be approximate or starting prices, and status is not a live inventory guarantee. Subscription costs, phone compatibility and undocumented features may be unknown. A feed’s build date is not a verification date for every specification.
